St. Peter Julian  ~ The Apostle of the Eucharist

St. Peter Julian is the Apostle of the Eucharist. From the time he was a child he was drawn to our Lord in the Eucharist.  When his family could not find him, they went to the Church.  One day they found him on a stool leaning on the tabernacle. When asked what he was doing, he said he wanted to get as close to the Lord in the Eucharist as he could.

St. Peter not only had a passion for our Lord in the Eucharist, but he was also equally devoted to Our Lady.  His priesthood began in the Oblates of the Immaculate.  During his early priesthood, our Lady gave him a locution telling him that there were orders dedicated to every element of her Son’s life, but one, his Real Presence in the Eucharist.  She asked him to create one.  He created not one but two orders, The Blessed Sacrament Fathers and an order of sisters, Servants of the Blessed Sacrament.

St. Peter’s love of our Lady and the Eucharist would lead him to give her the title Our Lady of the Most Blessed Sacrament and to write a book by the same title.   St. Peter’s writings are without doubt some of the most incredible writings on the Eucharist.  He also made it a point to write so that the laity could fully access his teachings.  He even created a book specifically for the laity, called The Eucharistic Handbook.  His order would create the Blessed Sacrament chaplet over one hundred years ago but is no longer actively promoting it.

He was born in 1811 in the French Alps and lived until 1868.  He was a close friend and contemporary of St. John Vianney.  St. Peter’s Feast day is August 2nd.   Our Lady of the Most Blessed Sacrament’s feast day is May 13th.  His body is incorrupt as shown in the photo at the top of this page.

Our apostolate is blessed to be stewards of a first-class relic of St. Peter, granted through a bishop for our veneration and intercessory needs.   We invoke him in all that we do for all our supporters needs, including this fundraising initiative.
